QuizFest 2010 Information

21st Annual QuizFest 2010

Start the tournament year off right at the 21st annual Quiz Fest Tournament at Kankakee First of the Nazarene. With both Experienced and Novice Divisions there is something for everyone.

Whether you are looking for challenging competition for your team or just want a quizzing trip that your novice team can get excited about and grow from, this is where you want to be.

This tournament is for individual church teams only. If two churches wish to form a combination or cup team they must seek prior approval from the quiz director. Plaques will be awarded to top teams in both divisions as well as to top individuals in both divisions. Medals will be awarded to individual members of the top teams and also individuals placing in the top 15 in the experienced division. The top Experienced Division quizzers will also receive scholarships to Olivet Nazarene University.

You can also register online at this web site. Team registration fee is $35 for an Experienced Division team and $30 for a Novice Division team. If registering more than one team from a church there will be a $10 discount from the division cost for the 2nd team. All forms and fees must be received by September 27th and all fees are nonrefundable. Please make checks payable to Ryan Kuehl and designate on the check which church team the payment is for. Registration form and fees must be received by Sept. 27th or a $10 late fee will apply. Due to limited space there may be a 30 team limit for the Experienced Division and/or 21 team limit for the Novice Division. Teams that have registered AND paid have priority for those slots. If your team has not registered and paid by the deadline you might be jeopardizing your teams ability to participate.

Housing

Teams traveling more than 2 hours or 120 miles may request housing for the Friday night before the tournament. Teams would need to come prepared with sleeping gear (pillows, sleeping bags, towels and toiletries) as they will be staying with local residents. Since there may be limited housing it will be issued according to earliest registration and payment. All other teams wishing to stay the night prior will need to make their own arrangements. Teams that do receive housing through me need to be at the church no later than 9:30pm out of respect for the hosts that are graciously opening their homes to us. If you know that you can’t be here by that time information from local hotels/motels is listed below.

Old Timers Quiz!

I am looking forward to having more Old Timers quizzing at Quizfest this year. Last year we had a trial run to see what interest is out there and had a great error filled evening (at least if you were like me on my team). We will be quizzing over the same material as the quizzers (1-7) and hope to have 3 or 4 rounds. I plan on doing 2 team quizzing depending on the number of teams participating. Feel free to register as an individual and we will find a way to group into teams.
